瀝青混凝土材料的強度主要表現(xiàn)在兩個方面。一是瀝青與礦粉形成的膠結(jié)料的粘結(jié)力;另一是集料顆粒間的內(nèi)摩阻力和鎖結(jié)力。礦粉細顆粒(大多小于0.075毫米)的巨大表面積使瀝青材料形成薄膜，從而提高了瀝青材料的粘結(jié)強度和溫度穩(wěn)定性;而鎖結(jié)力則主要在粗集料顆粒之間產(chǎn)生。

制備工藝

Generally, fixed hot mixing plants are selected, and mobile hot mixing machines should be selected when the line is long. Cold mixed asphalt concrete materials can be mixed in a centralized way or mixed on the road.
在制備工藝上，過去多采用先將砂石料烘干加熱后，再與熱瀝青和冷的礦粉拌和。又發(fā)展一種先用熱瀝青拌好濕集料，然后再加熱拌勻的方法，以因集料在加熱和烘干時飛灰。

采用后一種工藝時，要防止殘留在混合料中的水分影響瀝青混凝土使用壽命，好能同時采用瀝青抗剝落劑，以增強抗水能力。
